Working with clients to assist with their strategic planning and helping them develop systems that are forward thinking is what Chris enjoys.
He’s well placed to do this, having had a varied background of both Chartered and Commercial accounting. Chris has a strong interest in Information Technology. He has a vision of CA firms of the future linking in to their clients systems and working as a “Virtual CFO”.
Chris’ background has taken him around the world as an accountant. After having obtained his degree at Manchester University in the UK, he returned to New Zealand and qualified as a CA in 1988. From there he added to his experience gained in auditing, taxation, business advisory and manufacturing. More recently Chris has been involved in the agricultural sector - including a high intensity poultry operation, and the education and health services. A highlight for Chris was time spent in Papua New Guinea.
Experience in preparing long term business plans, multi departmental budgets and cash flows, means that Chris is able to tailor make solutions for clients. Whether it’s a new business start-up, or growth within an existing business, then helping clients grapple with the issues is all part of the assistance he can offer.
Having had an interest in farm accounting since training as an accountant, Chris is also keen to work with farmers to provide them with relevant business management information, including benchmarking performance.
Chris is married with three children. He and his family are making the most of their half hectare share of the beautiful Manawatu. In his free time, Chris enjoys sport, gardening challenges and having an input in to his local church.
